My client is a Financial Services organisation looking for a Supplier Manager / Vendor Manager to join a fast growing team and organisation. This Supplier Manager role has excellent career opportunities within a team that is spearheading the payments market with an expanding set of innovative products.

The Supplier Manager will have a wide range of responsibilities, so you will have to be a good communicator with the ability to adapt to a number of different environments and senior stakeholders.

Specific responsibilities to include:
- Support product development and product implementation teams in launching new products, through co-ordinating the efforts of 3rd party providers.
- Work with 3rd party providers and so fully understand their businesses and identify any opportunities or new product developments that can be leveraged in the overall FS product offerings, ensuring a service development schedule is maintained detailing service and cost improvements.
- Co-ordinate testing needs of partners related to product launches/modifications.
- Provide oversight of BAU activities of the partners.
- Implement and maintain the appropriate governance structure with each partner.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key partner personnel/stakeholders and all levels in the organisation
- Track performance of providers at a business level, ensuring adherence with KPI’s and quality standards to enhance performance efficiency, cost control and reputation.
- Own BAU issues related to providers, managing through to conclusion and root cause analysis and correction. Work with IT Operations when problem is of a technological nature.
- Chair and organise partner governance meetings
- Attend partner and regulatory review meetings
- Represent the company at partner forums and business events
- As contract renewals approaches co-ordinate activities with Procurement and as new service/product requirements emerge, work with Procurement to identify preferred partner, negotiate commercials and contract and implement services.
- The responsibility encompasses the service from suppliers from customer initiation through to settlement.

Essential

- Extensive experience of supplier management, preferably in Financial Services (Possibly background in Procurement)
- Ability to build, influence and manage relationships both internally and with external partners at all levels.
- Attention to detail with the ability to articulate and understand the ‘bigger picture’.
- Wide understanding of commercial and contract negotiations needed to finalise 3rd party contracts.
- Strong leadership skills, comfortable working under own direction and taking the initiative when needed with little supervision.
- Exceptional negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a pressured changing environment to tight deadlines.


Preferable
- Understanding of payment systems (including authorisation, clearing, settlement) and the product development payment lifecycle. (knowledge of Prepaid, wallet, P2P concepts and systems an advantage)
- Broad understanding and appreciation of operational risk and management and oversight.
- Mobile Commerce experience
